Internship Site Visits
I find myself in awe of what is happening to our students in their internship placements. I have been visiting every site every week, and the conversations that are taking place with interns and their supervisors are so deep and reflective. These students are getting such a great experience in each and every workplace setting. I have realized that each internship is so unique, every workplace is very different, and that 100% of the placements were a 100% perfect fit. Still feeling proud.

Feeling Proud
When I became the official CAPS Digital Design teacher, I had a flurry of mixed emotions. Excitement for new possibilities. Hopeful for student engagement. Fear that I wouldn't be a good fit. Discomfort in not knowing what to expect.
We are now seven weeks into our first CAPS semester, and I really couldn't be more proud of my students. They continue to impress me everyday. They are enthusiastic about working on authentic client projects. They work hard to do their best. They openly communicate with me on a number of levels. They work beautifully with each other.
Of all these things, I take pride in the great learning community that has been built here at Shutterfly. I can count on every student to support one another when needed, and that makes me so proud to be here.

Lots of Dropped Jaws
What a great first couple of weeks at CAPS! Yesterday I asked a student, "what did you think about what happened at CAPS today?". She replied, "Everyday gets better and better". Goose bumps!
This is just a small clue as to what students will gain from this classroom experience here at Shutterfly. We have connected with so many professional expert that will be such great mentors for us in the classroom as they help to guide the students professionally, through projects, and ignite creativity.
